Privacy policy

This notice explains which personal data we process on “Kommt Zeit kommt Rad”. It is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). The competent authority is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

1. Controllers

Beni Gasser and Nicole Mattenberger, Switzerland.

Requests, access and deletion: via the contact form. We do not publish a home address; this channel is sufficient for contact and data-protection requests.

2. Data we process

Contact form: name, email address, subject and message. We use these details only to reply.

Comments: name, email address and comment text. The email address stays internal (moderation, notification, later approval of the same author) and is not shown publicly. Approved comments appear with name and text on the post.

Newsletter: first name, last name and email address. Sign-up goes through Mailchimp with email confirmation (double opt-in).

Technical data: visits create the usual server logs at our host (including IP address, time, page requested, browser). The IP address may also be stored briefly to prevent abuse (rate limits on forms and search). We set a technically necessary session cookie.

We do not use visitor tracking, advertising cookies or analytics tools. Fonts are hosted on our server.

3. Recipients and hosting

The website is hosted by cyon GmbH in Switzerland.

Newsletter data is sent to Mailchimp (Intuit) in the United States. Mailchimp uses appropriate safeguards for the transfer (including the Data Privacy Framework and/or standard contractual clauses). You can unsubscribe via the link in every newsletter email.

Emails to us (contact, comment notifications) are delivered through our email provider.

4. Third-party embeds

Posts may include maps and videos (YouTube via youtube-nocookie.com, Komoot, TravelMap, Outdooractive). When those embeds are shown, the browser loads data from the provider, who may see your IP address and device information. Social-media and sponsor links and “Buy Me a Coffee” only send you to third-party sites when you click them.

5. Retention

Contact messages and comments stay stored until we delete them manually. Newsletter data stays with Mailchimp until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Server logs follow the host’s practice.

6. Your rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability and objection via the contact form. You may also lodge a complaint with the FDPIC.

No automated individual decision-making takes place.
